Our customer is a leading IT solutions provider in the southwest, is seeking an experienced Microsoft-focused technologist to join our growing professional services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting a Microsoft enterprise technology practice. You are the ideal candidate for this opportunity if:
You consider yourselves a Microsoft enterprise technology expert, including Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, Hyper-V, and the Systems Center Suite
You want to enable clients to leverage cloud based services such as Azure and Office365 when it makes sense for their business
You enjoy the “doing” (delivering the solutions) just as much as planning and designing those solutions
You have led or participated in a significant manner in the design and implementation of large scale implementations or migrations of Microsoft enterprise technologies
This customer-facing position is responsible for developing and delivering enterprise networking solutions for our diverse customer base. This Principal Consultant will be a leader in our customer’s Microsoft practice from a technology perspective, and will collaborate with other members of the consulting team to deliver complete data center solutions.
Provide consultative pre-sales solution architecture / design services throughout the sales cycle
Development of solution implementation and integration services proposals
Deliver complex Microsoft solution implementations, upgrades, and migrations in the field
Provide product roadmaps and other technical presentations to customers
Work with vendor partners and customers to resolve technical issues
Maintain multi-vendor technical expertise and certifications, through paid training, self-study, and hands-on lab experience
Evangelize Microsoft enterprise and cloud solutions within the IT community
Be the Microsoft enterprise technology subject-matter expert within our customer’s organization
Understand and support the Microsoft practice goals of our customer’s organization
Be highly available and responsive to the Sales and Business Development teams
Develop peer relationships with key customer technical staff and be viewed as their go-to advisor for Microsoft enterprise technologies.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum 10 years working with Microsoft technologies, specifically Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, Hyper-V, and the Systems Center Suite.
Proven success in design and implementation of cloud based Microsoft Solutions (Azure and/or O365), or a strong desire to add this capability to your skillset
Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
Must have the ability to recognize a customer’s business needs and to translate them into a technology solution. Should have experience in a technical presales role in a manufacturer or VAR environment
Must have current Microsoft product knowledge; other hardware/software vendor product knowledge a plus Ability and willingness to motivate and support other consultants
Resilience and resourcefulness when solving complex problems
Ability to present proposals persuasively
Ability to work both as a team leader, team member and independently as needed
Automation, orchestration, scripting experience is a plus
Experience with 3rd party Microsoft-focused migration and management tools (e.g. Quest tools suite)
Education or Formal Training / Certifications:
BS/BA with a major in a technical discipline, or the equivalent relevant experience.
Pre- and Post-Sales Technical Certifications from:
Microsoft (any of the MCSE certs primarily)
VMware Data Center desirable (VCP, VCAP, VCIX)
